Once working as a fitness/ Aerobics instructor one could take further advanced training to develop and broaden teaching skills like circuit training, outdoor fitness, Pilates and yoga.
The pay depends on the area/place the instructor works in and the experience in the field. The initial salary for a fresher can be as low as Rs. 5000 per month. However at high end gyms, a newcomer without experience can expect between Rs. 12,000-Rs. 15,000 per month for one shift and personal training – Rs. 750-Rs. 1,000 per hour, group classes between Rs. 400-Rs. 750 per hour class.
Established trainers earn from around Rs. 50,000 per month and go higher as they move ahead with specialization certifications and learning’s. It also depends on how established and how well-known is your centre, the locality, the members and so on.
A certified course in first aid, health and nutrition, muscle conditioning, power yoga etc is an added advantage.
Work experience is greatly advantageous when getting hired.
