AVCU’s 2017 IRA Training Program
AVCU’s 2017 IRA Training Program
Event on 2017-09-20 09:00:00
Our 2017 IRA training program is scheduled for Wednesday & Thursday, September 20-21. Under the direction of AVCU’s Education and Scholarship Committee, and with the assistance of our training partner Ascensus, AVCU’s program will take place, in whole or in part, contingent on the receipt of sufficient Early Bird registrations to ensure a financial break-even point. IRA Essentials on Wednesday will take place at the Hampton Inn & Vermont Event Center. If the Advanced IRAs seminar is held on Thursday, it will take place in AVCU's Colchester Conference Room or, if registrations exceed our capacity, also at the Hampton Inn. Essentials provides a solid foundation of knowledge for those new to IRAs, but also offers those with limited experience an updated refresher on rules changes and proper procedures. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave this session able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. This is a beginner's session; no previous IRA knowledge is assumed. Advanced IRAs will include resolving contribution issues, advanced portability, required minimum distributions, beneficiary options, conducting your own compliance audit, and more. The Advanced session provides in-depth knowledge for administrators and member services personnel who have a working knowledge of basic IRA operations and wish to expand their expertise and provide a greatly enhanced member service experience. Both sessions include a comprehensive training guide which serves as a year-round reference, instruction by a knowledgeable professional with 16 years of IRA training expertise, and buffet-style breakfast and lunch. Per registrant discounts of (one session) and 0 (both sessions) off regular pricing are offered for all Early Bird registrations submitted by the August 11th deadline. New for 2017: Sliding tuition scale for multiple attendees from the same credit union. Although our partner Ascensus offers IRA training events at popular travel destinations across the country, Vermont credit unions will find no more affordable in-person IRA training for their employees than these two days sponsored by AVCU. We are committed to providing top quality professional development at rates which are affordable to credit unions of all asset sizes. In addition to the and 0 Early Bird discounts off regular pricing, when your credit union submits multiple Early Bird registrants to our IRA program, your tuition rate for every single program attendee from your credit union gets reduced! (Tuition reductions are based on asset size and the total number of Early Bird attendees from your CU registered by 8/11/17).
