Dreams and the Poetic Imagination – Evening Lecture

Dreams and the Poetic Imagination – Evening Lecture
Event on 2017-09-15 19:00:00
Rodger Kamenetz, author, poet and dream practitioner whose book The History of Last Night’s Dream was featured on Oprah Winfrey’s “Soul Series,” will explore the restorative and healing properties of the images in poems and dreams at a special two-day event hosted by the Community for Integrative Learning in Wilmington, Delaware.
During the evening lecture, Kamenetz will discuss poems by modern and contemporary poets that are inspired by dreams. In the workshop, participants will work with Kamenetz to find the images that have the most emotional charge in their dreams. They will also have an opportunity to do hands-on creative writing exercises to explore the connections between their dreams and poetry, and also to create their own poems using this approach.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our local community to work with this acclaimed author, poet and creative dreamworker” says Steve Steinwedel, Director and Co-Founder of “CIL” the Community for Integrative Learning. “Participants should come prepared to explore the imaginative power of the images in their dreams.”
