Grenoble
Back Pain
When I had just arrived in France, the places like Nice, Orange and Burgundy made me wonder if they were really nice and colourful, while places likes Angers, Pissy and Stains often brought an impish smile on my face. But then before long I had realised there is nothing in the name, a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose as quoted by Gertrude Stein as back as 1913. By the way, here are some more naughty villages of France: Saligos (dirty pig), Trecon (very stupid), Montcuq (my buttock). Yes, still it holds true: a rose is a rose is rose.
France is a beautiful country with wonderful people and unique food. Coming to food, no pain no food. Yes, bread-which is an integral part of the meal- is called Pain in French. But this pain is not as soft and tooth-friendly as ones I was used to. It’s a Pain.
As the time passes this country is slowly becoming my second home now as they accept me as one of their owns. In the mean time, I miss my country a lot and a long vacation is a need of the hour.

The scene in the picture is of Grenoble city as seen from La Bastille fort. The Cours Jean Jaures is said to be one of the longest, straightest streets in Europe. It runs across this small city in France, which is a desired abode for thousands of foreign and domestic students, researchers, scientists and other employees given its scenic beauty and academic/scientific importance.
