Unexpected Productions is excited to announce Improv for Teens,  a new class in our Youth Program! For years we have been producing the Hogan Cup, the first High School improvisation tournament, now we are adding a class to continue offering skills to youth. Unexpected Productions is Seattle’s heart of improvisation and produces many shows of all kinds including Seattle TheatreSports, the Northwest’s longest running improvisation show. Class is 8 Saturdays, 10:00am-12:30pm starting  Sept 16th, 2017 at our Georgetown Studios. M In Improv for Teens, you will learn the fundamentals of good improvisation through games and exercises. Explore the basics of storytelling and spontaneous scene creation through strong characters, listening, narrative, self-confidence, spontaneity, and basic stage skills. The focus will be on creating ensemble work in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. We have a brand new space in Georgetown and are excited to share it with you. Teen improvisation classes are broken into three sections – short form, character work, and scenes – designed to lead the student to create and perform solid ground relationship based scenic work. Teens Improvisers Will: –        Study the fundamentals of improvisation. –        Develop strong ensemble and character skills. –        Develop stage presence. –        Build patience, self-confidence, good communication skills, and a respect for other performers and their creativity.  Sara Carmer McMahon is a frequent performer and teacher with Unexpected Productions. She can be seen most weekends in the Happy Hour show. A few past UP shows you may have seen her in include:  Bubbles in the Wine: Improvised Lawrence Welk, Improvised Hitchcock, Afterlife, Truth or Dare, and Play to Play.  Sara graduated from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and has been acting here in Seattle for the past 20 years.  She has been teaching improv to Teens all over Seattle for 10 years!
