Men need a men’s vitamins to have optimal health
Well to tell you the truth, while there are many health issues that are universal concerns for everyone, there are also a variety of health concerns that specifically to men and affect a man’s overall health. Issues such as arthritis, heart disease, prostate cancer and other forms of cancer, sexual health and vigor all comprise the top concerns men face today. And, unfortunately, most, but not all, are age related.
I think we can all agree that the biggest health problem a man would face is death. So lets look at what is killing men. The number one killer of men is cardiovascular disease. Heart attacks and strokes kill more men that anything else, but a good men’s vitamin will help improve your cardiovascular health.
The second leading cause of death is cancer, and we currently do not know exactly why. This may be due to the oxidative stress that our bodies are under, and the inability of our diets to provide us with enough antioxidants to combat these effects.
In particular, prostate cancer seems to be on the rise. The cause of this is uncertain. Part of it may be related to improvements made in early diagnosis of the disease. There is a clear correlation with prostate cancer and aging.
BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy) is another prostate condition men need to worry about. And don’t think this can’t happen to you, 90% of all men report BPH after the age of 85. While it is very rare in men under 35, there is much written in the research showing that the onset ages are getting young every year.
Men go through hormonal changes as they get older much like women who go through menopause. In men it is being called andropause, due to the reduces levels of androgens (Male hormones) we produces as we get older. BPH is strongly related to the hormonal changes men go through. Most men’s vitamins address these issues specifically.
The risk and prevalence of osteoarthritis increase with age as well. Pain and swelling of the joints – due to the deterioration of cartilage between bones – occur, as well as decreased ease of mobility.
So you think, you are too young to take a men’s vitamin, they are for old people. Well you are short changing yourself big time. The three components most younger men are concerned about are strength, endurance and stamina. It is crucial for even young men to optimize their nutritional intake and energy levels in order to optimize their performance. So don’t let yourself down, don’t let your boss down and most importantly don’t let your spouse down.
The better you eat, the better your nutrition, the better you feel. So if you can’t eat properly at every meal, get a good men’s vitamin and bring your performance back up to where it should be.
It is vitally important to maintain adequate amounts of vitamins and antioxidants. B vitamins are important to decrease levels of homocysteine, which has been linked to heart attack and stroke. Antioxidants are important to combat the diseases of aging, to minimize oxidation of cholesterol (which can lead to heart attack) and to maintain proper immune function.
A well-balanced diet is essential for any active male. However, even with the most balanced food intake, strenuous exercise can often cause rapid use of nutrients; in these cases, vitamins, minerals and other supplements may be necessary to help improve performance.
