Come along and contribute to an Aboriginal mural being created by local artist Jason Wing. Together with Jason, you can create a contemporary mural in solidarity and support of Aboriginal culture. This workshop is part of this year’s NAIDOC Week celebrations. Youth from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community are strongly encouraged to join.   Jason Wing is a Sydney-based artist who strongly identifies with his Chinese and Aboriginal heritage. Jason began as a street artist and has since expanded his practice to incorporate photo media, installation and painting. Influenced by his bi-cultural upbringing, Jason explores the ongoing challenges that impact his wider community.    As part of celebrating NAIDOC Week, Jason has been commissioned by the Bankstown Arts Centre to create a mural for the Imagine Wall at the Art Centre. The Imagine Wall is a large outdoor canvas for local artists showcases their work.    ­­­­Bookings Places are extremely limited, bookings essential. This workshop is suitable for those 9-14 years of age. Access information Entry to Bankstown Arts Centre is via the front of the building at Dale Parade. Visitors with restricted mobility can utilise all public spaces at the Arts Centre. Disabled parking is also available at the Olympic Parade car park.   Public transport Bankstown Arts Centre is within five minutes walking distance from Bankstown Station and Bus Interchange.   Parking at the precinct Parking is very limited at the Arts Centre precinct. Participants are suggested to use public transport wherever possible. Limited free 4-hours (4P) parking and disabled parking is available at the community carpark located on Olympic Parade.
