Speak Up & Shine helps talented students about to go to university or new undergraduates to: Build confidence. Kicks the fear of speaking in class. Be effective in group discussions. Deal with the other speakers. Ask effective questions. Improve your speaking skills  The Workshop This is an interactive workshop. You will work on your speaking skills and with other group members. The workshop is collaborative and informal. We aim to create a supportive environment in which you feel free to learn and ask questions. We focus on: Building confidence Removing the fear of Speaking Up Speaking Up in class   Workshop Places / materials This workshop is limited to a maximum of 30 students. There is no pre-workshop reading. Free Wi-Fi Free coffee, tea and water  What will I learn? Suzanne Reece, The Study Coach, will cover the essentials to help you Speak Up & Shine in class. International and UK students who are about to or are studying on challenging courses and want to improve their speaking skills.  You will be: driven ambitious, committed to achieving your goals.  Suzanne Reece, The Study Coach                                                           Suzanne Reece is a solicitor (non- practising) who worked for over 17 years in several legal firms. She later moved into education teaching post graduate law at City University of London for nearly 10 years. She is also a guest lecturer at Coventry University. She has: Taught speaking skills to post-graduate law students for nearly 10 years. Spoken in courts to judges for over 17 years. Spoken at tribunal and inquests hearings. Designed teaching and academic support for advocacy students. Designed student self-help programmes for improving speaking skills. Marked assessments for speaking skills. Designed speaking skills assessments.   Students wants to understand their taught subjects. Tutors are consistently assessing students’ engagement in class as part of formal and informal assessments. Students can learn more and show they are engaged with their subject by Speaking Up & Shining in class. Suzanne has taught thousands of students and helped many students improve their spoken skills so they can obtain first class grades. The first 7 students will receive a £50 discount and pay £45.19 (including booking fee). The full cost of the workshop is £98.29 (including booking fee £6.29)   When is the workshop? Date: various dates Time: 2.00am-5.00pm Venue: CitizenM Hotel Bankside, 20 Lavington Street London SE1 0NZ (nearest tubes Southwark, London Bridge or Borough Underground stations.)    FAQs  Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? 17 years and over  What's the refund policy? If you need to cancel 7 full days before your workshop you get a full refund. If you need to cancel 7 days or less you will be offered an alternative date  Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
