Is this even possible, self-defence and mindfulness? Yes, it is. When practising any self-empowering physical and mental empowering activity is essential to be mindful. Our mind is extraordinarily designed and its power may become even bigger than our own will. We live constantly in the doing, running behind the clock, with one foot here and another one in the next moment. This creates some level of on-going anxiety and the need of more without eventually getting any point in which we are fully satisfied. This is somehow part of human condition, although modern life is speeding up things even more. This way of living may become toxic if this becomes a habit. We need to be able to train our mind to serve us whenever is needed, not the other way around. Self-defence is not just about developing martial skills to potentially defence your life. It is a journey of self-instrospection and inner knowledge; it teaches you about your deepest self more than even meditation. Join us for an amazing workshop in which we will train some bad-ass realistic self-defence moves from a holistic approach and will also dedicate the last part of the session to discuss and practice the wonders of mindfulness for a fuller, healthier and happier life. Self-defence and mindfulness have made of me a stronger, healthier, happier, more confident, and more humble person, so I will be pleased to share some of my knowledge with you at the beautiful Shoreditch Park (12 mins walking distance from Old Street Station).
